AMMS 16/8
The Acoustic Multi-Mission Sensor (AMMS) uses a unique technology which simultaneously measures the amplitude and direction of sound events, rather than a standard microphone that only senses pressure. Due to this and in combination with the powerful signal processor embedded in the AMMS, a single sensor can detect, classify, and determine the direction of arrival (DOA) of acoustical events of interest. By combining the information of multiple AMMS in a network, it is possible to triangulate the location of Rockets, Artillery and Mortars (RAM) and Small Arms Fire (SAF) with high accuracy and with a low false alarm rate.
The powerful signal processor which is embedded in the 2D sensitive AMMS, is capable to analyse and localise acoustic signatures and to report to the Battlefield Management System (BMS). The ground sensor’s Digital Data Port interfaces with the customer specific hardware and BMS supports a variety of digital standards including the DAMA protocol. It also allows the user to make use of a Digital Data Port Adapter (DDPA) such as a digital antenna. The dedicated Sensor Management System (SMS) enables the full employment of a multi AMMS network.
For a quick and easy orientation of the AMMS, AMMS with a Geo-boom has been introduced.
The Geo-boom allows self-orientation of the AMMS which is < 1 degree*. Further, the Geo-boom provides accurate position up to 1 meter*, sends position and orientation automatically to the Command Post while it continuously updates the position. It has a size of 60x15x4cm, weights just 1kg and consumes 2.5W. Last, but not least the Geo-boom comes with a levelling tool on the boom.
